Tata Unveils Nano EV at Geneva Motor Show

Posted on 09/Mar/2010
At the Geneva motor show, Tata Motors unveiled their new EV version of the economic car, the Nano. Although it's not a Porsche, this car accelerates from 0 to 60 kms per hour in under 10 seconds. The batteries are super-polymer lithium ion, and give a range of about 160 kms per charge.
"Electrification will be an integral part of our initiative to launch environment-friendly vehicles," said Ravi Kent, vice chairman of Tata.
This could be the first step towards a more green future, and although there is no launch date set, it gives hope that this could be a viable means of transportation.
